I can totally believe all these experiences, and it’s so hard to get it right. I think I’m lucky that I’ve been running for so long, I only just joined a club and it was to meet people. If I go / don’t go it doesn’t impact my relationship with running.
It's hard to get it right, but I think part of the issue is we use the "right" language about being inclusive, but in my experience it's the missmatch of what's promised and the reality. If it's made clear at the start that there's a pace threshold, no one minds.
