Come to Sheffield, Verity! I took the plunge last year and joined a club after years away. I feared it would be as you described but it couldn't have been more different - they introduced me on the first session, people almost took it in turns to talk to me, and within a couple of months I was in teams for all kinds of crazy events - and noone could care less whether I'm fast or slow (and as you know I'm definitely not fast!). Come to Totley AC!! I'm so sad your experience was so different and left you questioning yourself instead of the unfriendly people at the club xx
